The US Military Woodland M81 Tactical Load Bearing Vest is designed to distribute field gear weight and provide reliable load carriage during combat and training. Two variants exist, differing in modular capability and pouch configuration.

• Material: Nylon mesh with reinforced nylon construction
• Function: Load-bearing vest for ammunition and essential field equipment
• Compatibility or Design: Available in two types:
– Standard Type with fixed integrated pouches and adjustable shoulder and waist straps
– Enhanced Type with added modular webbing for accessory pouch attachment and improved buckle system

Issued to U.S. Army personnel before and during the transition to MOLLE load carriage systems.
