The US Military Tan 499 Extreme Outer Weather Liner fleece is an insulating liner garment intended for use with the FREE clothing system. It is worn inside the EWOL jacket to provide additional cold weather insulation.

This jacket is sometimes also referred to as a "Midweight Shirt Insulated".
